Retreat to the countryside

Wallhope retreat
Set in a secluded and private spot next to the main farmhouse, Wallhope Retreat is a relaxing getaway for a romantic break or to get the children out and about in the fresh air. Paul & Sarah have worked hard to make this a spectacular place to stay with wonderful attention to detail. The colours used reflect the natural world around you and there are little hints of the wildlife you can find on the farm throughout. A wooden hare on the landing and nature inspired wallpaper and soft furnishings really bring the outside in.
The kitchen is incredibly well-equipped and there is a breakfast bar where you can keep the chef of your group company while they cook. The living room has a dining area and a warming wood burning stove making this a great place to stay no matter the time of year.
There are two bedrooms, a king-size with an en-suite shower room and a twin (this room can be set up as a super king-size double if required). There is also a lovely family bathroom with a freestanding bath. The large landing is a great place to spot cows in the fields and to see birds swooping from tree to tree.
Outside not only can you bask in the far-reaching views that make you say ‘wow, what a view’ at every turn, you can do this from the luxury of your own private hot tub.
Wallhope Retreat offers something really special in a wonderful yet often unexplored part of the country. It’s the perfect place to stay if you want to hole up in a beautiful cottage and enjoy the company of friends, family and loved ones, or if you want to head out and discover the fascinating locations you can easily reach from here. Chepstow and its castle are just down the road, the Forest of Dean is only a 15-minute drive and even Bath and Bristol are close by for a day trip. Wallhope Retreat’s Hot Tub Hygiene is BISHTA Certified.
What a hidden gem! We have just returned from staying at this wonderful property and can’t wait to return. Very spacious both upstairs and downstairs, plenty of space for my 15 month old to run round and play safe. He loved looking out of the window at the cows all day long! Lovely kitchen, amazing views. Highly recommend!

My friend and I had a very peaceful and restful stay at Wallhope Retreat. The cottage was very clean and fresh. We enjoyed watching the cows in the field from the hot tub (worth the extra payment). We would recommend a stay here, very relaxing, and beautiful surroundings.
