Wallhope Farm is both a retreat and a busy farming hub

Wallhope Farm

Right on the edge of the Wye Valley, less than 4 miles from Chepstow is Wallhope Farm. Our working dairy farm is hidden away overlooking the River Severn. Surrounded by miles of countryside and farmland criss-crossed with walking routes it really is in the heart of farming country. Home to over 200 dairy cows who spend their days in this idyllic location covering 200 acres, Wallhope Farm is both a retreat and a busy farming hub.

Not only does the farm produce fresh, non-homogenised, pasteirised whole milk but there is also an on-site vending facility in our MOO HQ offering delicious milk and 8 flavours of milkshake to purchase on site. We are also delighted to announce, that our lovely gelato, made here on the farm, is now available alongside our other self-serve offerings. Our gelato comes in 7 of your favourite flavours all year round, with guest flavours and sorbets popping up from time to time: look out for these tasty seasonal choices on our socials!

For those looking for a relaxing retreat, there is also self-catering accommodation on the farm, available to book now - owner’s Sarah and Paul work hard to supply the highest quality in all areas of their farming business.

Paul’s family have been here for over 60 years after his grandfather Edgar and father Gordon first bought it back in 1964. Wallhope Farm passed to Paul & Sarah when they purchased the farm in 2022. Living in the Gothic Victorian farmhouse which dates back to 1891, they have fallen in love with rural life here. The couple are passionate about diversifying the farm’s offerings and building a successful local business which creates jobs and serves the community.

A real home from home

You can make this farm your home from home for a few days or weeks by staying at Wallhope Retreat. This two-bedroom cottage is light and bright with the added luxury of a hot tub looking out across the river and miles beyond. You will even be greeted by some incredible locally made Wallhope Farm milk when you arrive. Paul & Sarah have made this a really comfortable and welcoming cottage that you will struggle to leave at the end of your stay.

While here you can arrange for a farm tour with Paul when work allows. Find out more about the daily life of a dairy farm and the hard work that goes into keeping it going. Meet the animals and see the pasteurisation process. Paul & Sarah can also point you in the direction of all the walking trails that run through the farmland. Offa’s Dyke, the Gloucestershire Way and the Wye Valley Greenway all pass through and are great ways to get out into the countryside and explore further afield.

  • "Absolutely perfect! Wonderful location, so quiet and totally peaceful despite being located on a working farm. A real gem, just wish we can go back again soon."
